We are standing on the edge of great change in how society perceives the world. Over the next 10 years, the convergence of Mixed Reality, the Internet of Things, Natural Language interfaces, Blockchain Technology, and AI will act together to move our digital interfaces from “in a box” to “in the environment” - this is the Ambient Computing Revolution. I start with the historical stage, discuss some of the pros and cons, and then share some stories to help you imagine what will become possible, and what we as designers need will have to look forward to.
